Danielle and Aaron’s Wedding

Tregedna stood out.

Covid had a big impact on their wedding; having to postpone three times, our vision of the wedding changed, and we also lost our original venue. On searching for a new one, we came across Tregedna.

Tregedna stood out. The pictures looked beautiful, and the venue visit did not disappoint. A wonderful venue to celebrate a special day together, private and safe for the little ones to run around in! Danielle and Aaron had found their venue, one they could make their own, and with the most beautiful ceremony room too!

"Liz was so welcoming and friendly, which I believe is a big part of booking a venue. A venue you can do so much to and make your own with a separate ceremony room which is very rare.

The hire of this venue ran so smoothly, and Liz was amazing, adding little touches that we thought were so sweet. She always checked in and made sure everything was okay, and then into the evening, the lovely Sam was about in case we needed anything. Honestly, I believe everything happens for a reason, and marrying in this venue was meant to be"

KISS Photography

“We spent a long time finding our Wedding photographer; we wanted to find a duo who would capture the day in a relaxed and non-formal way. Someone to capture moments that normally would be missed or forgotten. From the moment they met Ricky and Jenny from Kiss Photography, we knew they were the right people, super relaxed and experienced.

Their portfolio was exactly what they were looking for, and their wedding photos did not disappoint. On the day weather wasn’t on their side for their beach plans after the ceremony, but with the beautiful surroundings of Tregedna, Ricky used his talents and took the most incredible photos!”

The day

Danielle and Aaron wanted a relaxed, memorable day with all their closest friends and family, a day of laughter, smiles, moments and happiness after what had been a difficult two years of not being able to see each other.

A wedding Feast! By Kerra’s Catering

"We loved the idea of canapes; we chose three of our favourites. Pasties, halloumi and satay chicken - these were enjoyed outside along with local beers and ciders."

This was followed by a two-course BBQ wedding breakfast.  Danielle and Aaron chose rump steaks, peri peri chicken and seasoned belly pork with garlic mushrooms, chips, salad and coleslaw.

"Pudding was a difficult decision for us. So when we know we could have a trio, we chose sticky toffee pudding, Biscoff cheesecake and strawberries and cream.

For our evening food, we wanted something simple and easy to eat while dancing away to the band, so Pizza seemed like the perfect choice!"

No corkage charge!

"We were fortunate to have been gifted miniature bottles of Gin by Bloom Gin, so I made personalised glasses and placed different tonics on the table for everyone to enjoy with the meal. A bonus to this venue having a no corkage charge!"

Suppliers that really stood out.

"Emma from Emily Rose Hire goes above and beyond for her clients! She has the most amazing talent and is one of the most genuine people you will meet. She is a family-run business, and every wedding is given so much love and attention.

Tim Coleman from Coleman Events stepped in for us with the bar; he also went above and beyond. Really reasonably priced to hire and for drinks. He and his staff were so friendly and added to the enjoyment of the day."

The dress

Danielle always had a vision for her dress which was lace with a detailed back. She didn’t want to spend a massive amount on one, feeling it was too much personally for a dress worn once. She spent time looking around pre-loved shops before finally visiting wed2B, which is extremely reasonable, and she found the perfect one.

"It was a beautiful mermaid dress with lace sleeves and a gorgeous lace back to it."

The Groom

Aaron wanted to stand out from the rest of the boys, so chose a checked navy blue suit with a paisley pink tie and brown brogues.

Accessories

Their wedding was on Danielle's birthday. It was a double celebration! her birthstone is a pearl, and her mum brought her a beautiful pearl bracelet, and Aaron brought pearl earrings.

"With a high-neck dress, I didn’t need a necklace. I then wore a pearl and silver hairpiece and chose not to have a veil - my hairstyle was more than enough!"

Danielle's favourite part of the day

"The moment the doors opened to the ceremony room and I saw everyone that we loved finally together and my husband-to-be and children at the aisle waiting for me. That moment will be treasured forever."

Aaron's favourite part of the day

"The moment he saw me walking down the aisle"

Top tips and advice for other couples embarking on their wedding journey.

"Enjoy the planning process and remind yourself that the day is about both of you. We took moments throughout the day to soak in what was going on around us with friends and family.

Start prepping early! This is a big must, and then label boxes so you can organise items so you can locate things easier.

When booking suppliers, always research and explore a variety, even if you go with the first one. I found this so beneficial as it helped me see why they stood out and gave me ideas to explore

Preloved items are a must! There is nothing more lovely than buying items that have been used for other weddings, almost giving them a story and passing on the love and luck.

DIY and crafting yourself- I loved doing this and felt it gave the wedding a real personal touch! It also helped to bring the cost down.

If you’re having children, I highly recommend a snack station! This was a real hit at our wedding and kept the children entertained throughout the day.”
